Exploration at Dengizskoye and Verbovskoye license blocks

Preconditions

When Neftisa acquired Dengizskoye and Verbovskoye license blocks, one Vostochno-Dengizskoye field with recoverable reserves of only 260,000 tons was in the State Register of Reserves. The decision was taken to carry out geological exploration works at these blocks.

Implementation

Neftisa company specialists analyzed available G&G data. The decision was taken to carry out an informative seismic survey using the 3D technique. The obtained information was interpreted, and it was decided to drill. A series of potential hydrocarbon traps were prepared for drilling. The drilling itself was performed on the most promising structures.

Result

Five new oil fields with total recoverable reserves over one million tons were discovered within the block. Prospecting drilling efficiency was around 84%. Due to the discovery and commissioning of these fields, the company's Samara cluster managed not only to maintain the annual production planning level but also to increase it by 20%.
